Calibración de sistemas automáticos de medida

Calibration of automatic measurement systems (SAM)

Ensuring air quality and measuring pollutant emissions requires perfectly calibrated measuring devices. These devices not only measure atmospheric emissions but also continuously measure the oxygen concentration in the flue gases of boilers and industrial furnaces for combustion control and optimisation.
Pollutants are measured by certified analysers using reference methods. The monitoring methods are adapted according to the expected pollutant levels (fixed measurements, indicative measurements, modelling, objective estimation, etc.).

What is

calibration of automatic measurement systems?

Automatic Measurement Systems (AMS) are devices that monitor atmospheric emissions from industrial installations in real time. They offer the advantage of not having to carry out periodic self-monitoring, as they provide information on emissions on a continuous basis.

The information collected by the SAM is sent telematically to the Competent Bodies to find out and assess whether the installation complies with the Emission Limit Values imposed in their specific regulations.

Our services

GHS mainly apply to the following types of industries:

  • Iron and steel industry
  • Glass
  • Paper mills
  • Cement factories
  • Plaster factories
  • Thermal power stations
  • Oil refineries
  • Waste incineration plants

Since 2013, EUROCONTROL has been accredited by ENAC as a SAM calibration laboratory with accreditation number 845/LE1953, to carry out the following tests under the UNE-EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard:

  • SAM calibration: NGC2.
  • Performance of EAS (annual monitoring test).
  • For the following parameters: NOx, TOC, CO, flow, particles, SO2, HF, HCl, NH3, humidity and O2.

Control of atmospheric emissions
The emission of pollutants from industrial activities changes the composition of the atmosphere and degrades air quality. The control of gaseous pollutant emissions into the atmosphere has become a major issue for the protection of human health and the environment.
To prevent these risks, regulations have defined discharge limits for certain polluting substances and impose periodic controls.

Control of immission of atmospheric pollutants
Any industrial activity that generates an atmospheric pollutant that is not channeled must undergo an atmospheric immission control, also known as diffuse emissions. This type of monitoring makes it possible to determine the concentration of pollutants at ground level that can affect people, animals, vegetation or materials.
