Verification of tanker truck counters

The verification of tanker meters is regulated and requires the control of each meter to ensure the stability of its measurement.
The challenges we face are to ensure the security of data during fuel transactions and to guarantee the reliability of the data through measurement stability and accuracy in accordance with the regulations in force.

What is

verification of tanker trucks counters?

The verification of road tanker meters is governed by ORDER ITC/3750/2006, of 22 November, which regulates the State metrological control of measuring systems in road tankers for low viscosity liquids (≤ 20 mPa-s).

Verification must be carried out by an accredited entity, in a laboratory or on site, and its objective is to check and confirm that an instrument maintains, since its last verification or after a repair or modification, the metrological characteristics that apply to it.

What equipment must be verified?

The State metrological control of measuring systems in road tankers affects the measuring systems defined as "system that includes the meter itself and all the devices necessary to ensure correct measurement, or intended to facilitate measurement operations" in Royal Decree 889/2006, of 21 July, which regulates the State metrological control of measuring instruments.

Eurocontrol has accreditation No. OC-I/271 from ENAC to carry out metrological verification after repairs or modifications that require breaking of seals and the periodic verification of meters in the phase of instruments in service.

Inspection of oil installations
Industrialised countries accumulate oil reserves to be able to adjust supply in real time to fluctuating consumer demand. The storage of hydrocarbons also makes it possible to guard against international crises, or to preserve crude oil while waiting for its refining. Oil storage presents two major risks: fires and soil and groundwater pollution. Avoiding this pollution is a major challenge, for which Eurocontrol is involved in checking the condition of tanks and their degree of corrosion.
tyre pressure gauges
Verification of tyre pressure gauges
The stability, grip, cornering behaviour and braking performance of a vehicle's tyres must be optimal to ensure maximum safety. In addition, sufficiently inflated tyres can reduce fuel consumption, which is important in view of rising fuel costs. To be sure that the tyre pressure is correct, it should be checked regularly. The gauges we use for this purpose, both analogue and digital, should be checked for errors related to drift, environment, power supply, addition of components to the output loop and other process changes.
