waste plant and recycling

Consultancy and characterisation in waste plants and municipal solid waste

We carry out the characterization of non-hazardous waste and the quality control of materials in waste treatment plants, recycling facilities and other facilities.

What is waste characterization and

material quality control?

Characterisation of the waste
Characterisation of the waste

Characterization is a procedure applicable to waste samples that is used to find out their physical composition and be able to manage them in the most appropriate way. On the other hand, in the quality control of materials we analyze the materials recovered in the plant to verify the quality of the recovery processes of the facilities.

With the information they can obtain and our technical advice, our clients will assess different possibilities to obtain greater efficiency in their production processes and in waste management.

Waste characterization can be carried out in different facilities:

  • Light packaging selection plants
  • Mass waste treatment plants
  • Landfills
  • Recyclers and/or recoverers of materials
  • Shops
  • Municipalities
  • Other public entities

Material quality control

We help to find possible errors in the separation of materials recovered in the plant by not complying with customer specifications.

The material can be analyzed packed or in bulk, being the following:

  • Polystyrene (PS)
  • Plastic film
  • Other plastic materials (PVC, Others, mixture of plastic materials, etc.)
  • Steel
  • Aluminum
  • Beverage carton/aluminum (Brick)
  • Others

Compositional studies of residues for:

  • Improvement of production processes
  • Estimates of waste generation and composition

R+D+I studies

  • Recovery of waste
  • Facility efficiency

Asbestos - inspection analysis and measurements
Asbestos is a major public and occupational health problem: this multi-talented material, massively used until it was banned, has proven to be highly toxic. Legislative requirements are changing, with the recent addition of the obligation for municipalities to carry out a census of asbestos installations and sites and to draw up a plan for its removal, for example. Training requirements have also been established to ensure the safety of workers handling asbestos.
