Control of radioelectric emissions

Control of compliance with current regulations on levels of exposure to electromagnetic fields, both in the public sphere (R.D. 1066/2001) and in the occupational environment (R.D. 299/2016). We carry out radioelectric studies, periodic certifications and commissioning requests.

What is

radioelectric emission control?

control of radio electric emission
control of radio electric emission
The control and measurement of the electromagnetic fields generated by non-ionizing radiations, has as its objective the verification that, in an environment, whether public or occupational, the exposure to the aforementioned fields is within the limits established by their corresponding regulations:

  • For the general public, Royal Decree 1066/2001, which approves the Regulation that establishes the protection conditions of the public radioelectric domain, restrictions against radioelectric emissions and health protection measures against radioelectric emissions.
  • For the occupational environment, Royal Decree 299/2016, of July 22, on the protection of the health and safety of workers against risks related to exposure to electromagnetic fields, transposition of Directive 2013/35/EU .

The exposure limit levels established in both regulations are based on the recommendations of the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP).

Radioelectric studies and certifications for the general public

We verify compliance with the provisions of RD 1066/2001, carrying out the following types of work:

  • Telecommunications Technical Projects (PTT) or Radioelectric Studies (Type A Certifications)
    – Performance of broadband radioelectric measurements (Phase 1).
    – Carrying out measures in Phase 2 and/or Phase 3 if necessary.
    – Calculation and representation of reference volumes (PLL).
    – Project for the installation of signs and/or fencing that restricts the access of non-professional personnel to areas in which the established limits could be exceeded.
    – Preparation of a report for the request for authorization to install a radioelectric station.
  • Substitute Certifications of the Commissioning Inspection for radio stations (PSC)
    – Performance of broadband radioelectric measurements (Phase 1).
    – Carrying out measures in Phase 2 and/or Phase 3 if necessary.
    – Certificate of radioelectric exposure levels.
    – Certificate of Installation with photographic report.
    – Authorization request for commissioning.
  • Inspection requests for the commissioning of radioelectric stations (PSI)
    – Authorization request for commissioning by inspection.
  • Annual radioelectric certifications (Type B, Type C and Type D)
    – Certificate of radioelectric exposure levels.
  • Measures in Phase II
    – Selective measurements in frequency, taken with a spectrum analyzer.
  • Measures in Phase III
    – Measurements in the near field area.
    – Taking independent measurements for electric field and magnetic field.
    – Selective measurements in low frequency.

Radioelectric certifications for the occupational environment

We verify compliance with the provisions of RD 299/2016, carrying out the following types of work:

  • Radio certifications
    – Performance of broadband radioelectric measurements (Phase 1).
    – Carrying out measures in Phase 2 and/or Phase 3 if necessary.
    – Preparation of certification of compliance with regulations.
  • Theoretical studies
    – Modeling of emission of electromagnetic fields.

worker's protection on electromagnetic field
Worker protection from electromagnetic fields

Royal Decree 299/2016, of July 22, on the protection of the health and safety of workers against the risks related to exposure to electromagnetic fields, establishes the obligation to evaluate the presence of electromagnetic fields in their work environment. potentially exposed workers. This provision entered into force in July 2016.

Industrial Hygiene

Countless studies have been able to demonstrate the cause-effect relationship between certain jobs and the development of certain diseases. Most of these diseases do not show obvious symptoms until after a long time, even years. It is therefore essential to approach the problem from a preventive point of view, as this is the only way to achieve an optimal state of health for the worker at the end of his or her working life. Industrial hygiene is one of the tools we can use to achieve this goal.
